      At the Fair Grounds:

      SW MONTE MAN by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS won the Heitai Overnight S  and upped his earnings to $373,74. The 5-year-old gelding is owned by Ivery Sisters Racing LLC and trained by Ron Faucheux.

      Following him across the wire in third was DEVINE BEAN by STAR GUITAR. DEVINE BEAN is a homebred for Brittlyn Stable Inc  trained by Albert  Stall, 

      CUSTOM FOR CARLOS also had a 2-year-old winner in MISS PERSISTENT who is now two for two. She is owned by Val C Murrell and Ted Brandon and trained by Sam: David.

      At Delta Downs, JIMI'S A STAR but STAR GUITAR added his first black-type finishing 2nd in the Louisiana Legacy S. He is a homebred James Boyd trained by Henry Johnson.

      BROTHER RICHIE 3rd in the Jean Lafitte S at Delta Downs racing 7 furlongs.He had no problem wiring the field and graduating first out by almost 6 lengths sprinting  at Canterbury Park. The Two-year-old gelding is special to the Scherer family as he is named for trainer Gary M. Scherer's brother Richie who died this past year of cancer. It must have been a happy/sad moment in the winner's circle. Right behind him in second was RICHIE GARY for the same connections.       At the big day of racing at Louisiana Downs, MONTE MAN off the favorite got the job done by a neck in the Louisiana Sprint Stake. The win was the SIXTH in a row for Monte Man and the fourth straight stakes score. Monte Man was bred in Louisiana by Val C. Murrell. He is owned by Ivery Sisters Racing, trained by Ron Faucheux. He has earned $343,055 with the eviable record of 27 9-4-3

      Also stakes placed: FROLIC who ran third in the Louisiana Cup Filly And Mare Sprint. The 4-year-old filly is owned by  Bill Langford and Roland Bruno and trained by Roland Bruno. 2 year old filly WHODATWHODAT owned and trained by  Denise Schmidt  ran  3rd in the Louisiana Cup Juvenile Fillies S.  In the colt divisions of the BETO, still a maiden and also placed in the the D S Shine Young Futurity at Evangeline Downs  gained more black-type in the  Louisiana Cup Juvenile S for his owners L. William and Corinne  Heiligbrodt. 

      At Evangeline Downs, 2 year old filly CUSTOMS IN DIXIE had no problem winning first out sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs in a MSW for trainer Keith G. Bourgeois and owner Troy Williams. She was bred by  Ray Willie & Steve Holliday.

      The $50,000 Acadiana Stakes for 3-year-old Louisiana-bred fillies featured a field of eight going seven furlongs. The Al Stall, Jr. trainee, SEASIDE AMOUR by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS  who was the 5-2 betting favorite, prevailed after a stirring stretch drive with Yes Gorgeous to win by a neck in a final time of 1:24.41.
      It is the first career stakes victory for Seaside Amour and her third win overall from five starts. The $30,000 first-place purse increases her lifetime earnings to $73,790. She was bred in Louisiana by the owner, Stewart Mather Madison, and ridden to victory by Colby Hernandez.

      Third across the wire was the Brittlyn homebred BLUE SUADE GUITAR who let into stakes company after an impressive 7 length maiden win. And on the board in 4th was another homebred, this one for  Virginia Lazenby, TAP DANCE STAR who had garnered a stakes placing in the Louisiana Legends Soiree Stakes earlier this year.

      MONTE MAN overcame a squeeze at the start and a five-wide trip to win the $75,000 Louisiana Legends Sprint by 1-3/4 lengths in a time of 1:03.86 for the five and one-half furlongs. The win was the fifth in a row for Monte Man and the third straight stakes score for the gelding. Monte Man was bred in Louisiana by Val C. Murrell. He is owned by Ivery Sisters Racing, trained by Ron Faucheux and was ridden to victory by Gerard Melancon. Monte Man is by Custom For Carlos and is out of the Sutter's Prospect mare, Sarah's My Angel.

      Both 4-year-old FROLIC and 3-year-old SEASIDE AMOUR won their second races - both fillies in allowance company.  FROLIC owned by Bill Langford and her trainer Roland Bruno won sprinting  5 furlongs at Evangeline Down.  The Stewart Madison homebred SEASIDE AMOUR raced to a win going 6 furlongs at Louisiana Downs. She is trained by Allbert Stall. Both fillies checked in with a win by two lengths.

       CUSTOM FOR CARLOS and  HALF OURS both had first time stakes winners on the LaBred Premier Night Card and STAR GUITAR had a new stakes placed filly.

      MONTE MAN by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS moved through his allowance conditions winning his last 2 in a row at the Fair Grounds, Stepping up into stakes company in the LA Bred Premier Night Sprint Stakes on a rainy wet track at Delta Downs, he overcame a slightly slow break and traffic to finally get clear and win with energy. He is owned by Ivery Sisters Racing, trained by Ron Faucheux and was bred by Val C. Murrell. He has earned over $226,000.

      Earlier on the card, 3-year-old gelding, Ready Prospector, also by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS, ran second in the La Bred Premier Night Prince S to up his earnings over $115,000. He is a Virginia Lazenby homebred trained by Oscar Modica.

      HALF OURS also had a first-time stakes winner as OURS TO RUN relished the slop and splashed to a win in the La Bred Premier Night Matron S by 3/4 of a length. She has earned over $140,000 for owner  Colonel Thoroughbreds LLC and trainer Larry Jones. She was also off a step slow but came wide on the turn for the win. 

      STAR GUITAR'S Shamrock Star edged clear to run third in the La Bred Premier Night Matron S  to add her first black type. She is trained by  W. Bret Calhoun and owned by Carl R. Moore Management LLC.

      FRENZY, a 4-year-old filly by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS graduated going 6 1/2 furlongs for owner/breeder/trainer combination of  Bill Langford and Roland Bruno. She won by over 6 lengths. STAR ROCKET a 4-year-old colt by STAR GUITAR also graduated on the same card going a mile and he won by 3/4 of a length. He is a homebred for Israel Flores Horses LLC and is trained by Jose Grimaldo.

      MONTE MAN, a winner at Saratoga last summer added his 5th win and second in a row back home at the Fair Grounds. He raced 6 furlongs and won by almost 4 lengths, The 5 year old gelding upped his earnings over $154,000.  MONTE MAN is owned by Ivery Sisters Racing LLC, trained by Ron Faucheux and was bred by Val C. Murrell at Clear Creek.

      Newly turned 4-year-old filly TENSAS THOUGHT was 2nd in her first start and laid waste to the field in her second - winning by 6 and never headed. She was racing 6 furlongs on the dirt at Prairie Meadows. Running back in allowance company at the Faur Grounds, she again wired the field to make it 2 in a row She had a change of ownership and is now back in Louisiana and  owned by Kevin R. Kuta and is trained Wayne M. Catalano. The filly was bred in LA  by Curt Leake (LA). Keep an eye out for this one, She likes to WIN!
