Today BRUTE STRENGTH lived up to his name once again for owner Valene Farms and trainer Eric L. Heitzmann. The 3 year old gelding was confidently handled off the pace and when asked he passed the field with a flourish and won going away in his first allowance condition.  He raced 6 furlongs  on the dirt at Evangeline Downs. He has 2 wins, 2 seconds and a 3rd and has earned $56,450. BRUTE STRENGTH was bred by Clear Creek Stud.


MGSW BIG WORLD by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS adds a stakes placing

MGSW BIG WORLD, winner of the La Troienne G1 and the G3 Tempted S ran third in the Mari Hulman George Stakes at Indiana Downs.  She made a bid in the stretch and just came up short. BIG WORLD has a juvenile full-brother named Gracida who brought $400,000 as a 2 year old in training at Gulfstream.  She is owned by Maggi Moss and trained by Thomas M. The wonderfully named FROLIC was second first out and won her second start to graduate going 6 furlongs at Evangeline Downs in a MSW. She broke right with the first flight and then swalled them up to head for the wire on her own and win by over 5 lengths. In Kentucky at Ellis Park, 5 year old mare INVENIAM VIAM who has already visited the winner's circle 8 times, made her 9th win count as she won the Ellis Park Turf S and became a stakes winner!   There is seemingly NO stopping her. She tracked and then fanned wide and dove past rivals for the victory. INVENIAM VIAM is owned by Allied Racing Stable, LLC trained by Brad H. Cox and was bred by Paul E. Mullen. She has earned $247,959. She was foaled raised and started  by Clear Creek Stud.

Closer to home, 5 year old JOCKAMO'S SONG added another stakes win to his illustrious racing career. Placed early inside and behind, he came wide to wear down the field and clear to win the Louisiana Legends Sprint S - his 7th win lifetime and his 3rd stakes win. MSW PARTLY MOCHA missed by a head  sprinting in the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream. He came wide but ran out of track. He had the same thing happen in the Mighty Beau Overnight Stakes last mornth and the Claiming Crown stakes on opening day at Gulfstream. The  8 year old gelding turned the tables winning the Bucharest Turf Sprint S at Sam Houston and the Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint Stakes also at Sam Houston.  He is owned by the Ramseys and is trained by Michael J. Maker. He was a wise claim for his new connections last year at Saratoga. PARTLY MOCHAhas earned over $481,000 and is wonderfully consistent with a record of 40: 9 10 7.

Star Guitar's son, Aceguitar, got his career off to an impressive start with a win first time out at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.  Aceguitar broke fast to set all the pace while being challenged down the backstretch and throughout the turn but when they turned for home he seemed to find another gear to widen his lead with every stride in the stretch to win in a hand ride by nearly nine lengths. Aceguitar finished the five furlong event in 58.70 as the odds on favorite. Ridden by Ted Gondron for trainer Danny Pish, Aceguitar was purchased by owner, Scott Brown, at the Texas Thoroughbred Yearling Sale for $20,000 from Inside Move, Agent for breeder Clear Creek Stud, LLC.

Louisiana bred OKHOTSK is far from home, the $190,000 2014 OBS March Sale graduate is running and winning in Japan. He broke his maiden as a 2 year old in Tokyo for trainer T. Tezuka and has been winning and finishing on the board regularly since then. Most recently he was 3rd in allowance company in the Hiyoshi Tokubetsu in Tokyo. OKHOTSK is owned by Yukio Baba. GSW BIG WORLD  winner of the G3 Tempted S. as a 2 year old, triumphed in a two of Louisiana-bred stakes at 3  and then scored big time in the LA Bred Premier Night Distaff S. in Feb. Delta. Off as the heavy favorite going 1 1/16 at Oaklawn in aloowance company, she pushed  the pace then moved  to the front soon after straightening for home for a 1 1/2-length win.  BIG WORLD has a juvenile full-brother named Gracida who brought $400,000 as a 2 year old in training at Gulfstream.  BIG WORLD is owned by Maggi Moss and trained by Thomas M. At the Fair Ground, LUCKY BAND raced like a pro in her second start. Sprinting 5 1/2 she raced just of the pace and then came wide when it counted a scored by 1/2 a length. It is thought that she drifting wide cost her the win. She startled from glare from an infield body of water. Our Millie is trained by  Joseph M. Foster,owned by Marble Stables and bred by Barbara V. Rowell. Last out she was second in the Louisiana Champions Day Lassie Stakes. Watch for her next out!

She next took her first allowance condition, added black type by placing second  in the Orleans Stakes and today left the field behind in her 2nd allowance condition winning by over six lengths again on her own. SW BIG WORLD experienced a bumper car scenario coming out of the gate in the Si Cima at the Fair Grounds. She was hit hard on both sides and had to be taken up. He may not have had his progeny hit the winner's circle, but did they ever show up on the board all over LA. MSW JOCKOMO'S SONG ran second in the Heitai Overnight S  at the Fair Grounds for his owner Dare to Dream Stable LLC and upped his earnings to over $171,000.

MSW SMITTY'S COUGAR ran second in the Happy Ticket Overnight Stakes also at the Fair Grounds upping her earnings to $323,60 for owner/breeder Roger Smith.

Multiple stakes placed 2 year old gelding, Jack Snipes, ran 3rd after a troubled trip in the Louisiana Legacy Stakes at Delta Downs for owner/trainer Gary M. Scherer and co-owner Jeff Drown. He was bred by Clear Creek Stud LLC

To cap it off, Time Share added black type by a running a good second in the Orleans S at Delta Downs - in her third lifetime start. She is a homebred for William T. Reed.

Evelyn Benoit of Brittlyn Stables provided a wake-up call early in Friday’s Keeneland November session when fending off all challengers to take home MGSP Moment of Majesty (Saint Liam) for $850,000. The 9-year-old was consigned to the sale by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency as hip 917 while carrying a foal by Hill ‘n’ Dale resident Curlin. Grovendale’s James Keogh, acting on the new owner’s behalf, said Moment of Majesty will next year visit Benoit’s $1.75-million earner Star Guitar, who stands at Clear Creek Stud in Folsom, LA.

The fireworks started early during the Nov. 12 fourth session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale when Evelyn Benoit’s Star Guitar Inc. (long time and valued Clear Creek client) went to $850,000 to acquire Moment of Majesty, a multiple stakes-winning daughter of Saint Liam in foal to Curlin or $850,000. She was purchased specifically to breed Star Guitar , the three-time Louisiana-bred Horse of the Year who stands at Clear Creek Stud. James Keogh signed the ticket on the 9-year-old mare whose second dam is 1999 champion grass female Fiji, a daughter of Rainbow Quest who also produced multiple group III-placed Marcus Andronicus.

The winner, the ultra-consistent millionaire SUNBEAN,  is owned by Clear Creek client, Evelyn Benoit of  Brittlyn Stable, Inc. Brittlyn Stable, Inc also raced millionaire STAR GUITAR for whom the race is named and who is standing at Clear Creek Stud. STAR GUITAR has first two year olds of 2016.

Three year old filly BABY CUSTOMS, hopped at the start sprinting 5 furlongs, but accelerated quickly to the lead and never looked back, wiring the field in a MSW by  widening 7 1/4 lengths at Delta Downs. Three year old filly CHINAWOOD broke her maiden earlier this year. Today she overcame traffic problems and steered clear for a win in her first allowance condition at Evangeline Downs. She has earned better than $50,000 for her owner John Duvieilh and Keith & Earl Hernandez. She is trained by Frank Leggio and was bred by Alston Thoroughbreds LLC. 

 

Three year old gelding CUSTOMIZER shook clear and won his second race for owner Set-Hut LLC. He was sprinting 5 furlongs on the turf at Evangeline. CUSTOMIZER was bred by Perry Segura.

Also at Evangine, first time starter three year old gelding, CALEB HAWK, had an exciting trip. He was off slow but figured it out FAST and won by over 8 lengths. He is a homebred for John Duvieilh (who had a lot of excitment today) & Bill Langford. Keep and eye on this one.

MSW PARTLY MOCHA missed by a head  sprinting in the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream. He came wide but ran out of track. He had the same thing happen in the Mighty Beau Overnight Stakes last mornth and the Claiming Crown stakes on opening day at Gulfstream. The  8 year old gelding turned the tables winning the Bucharest Turf Sprint S at Sam Houston and the Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint Stakes also at Sam Houston.  He is owned by the Ramseys and is trained by Michael J. Maker. He was a wise claim for his new connections last year at Saratoga. PARTLY MOCHAhas earned over $481,000 and is wonderfully consistent with a record of 40: 9 10 7.
