      It was a family affair when 2 year old gelding MADE TO FIT wired the field to graduate in a MSW at Presque Isle Downs. He was ridden by Taylor B. Rice trained by  Kevin Rice and his owner is Clyde D. Rice. Only his breeders  Terry Gabriel & Lisa Meaux were not part of the family.  Running back in allowance company he was second and then today won circling wide to clear sprinting 5 1/2 fulongs on the all weather track at Presque Isle Downs.

      Two year old colts RUN AWAY RALPH and IL EST VITE both won at Evangeline and as a bonus three year old filly CUSTOM FOR CORALES also won. RUN AWAY RALPH rallied strongly clearing the field and breaking his maiden MSW sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs. He is owned by Energy Solutions Consultants LLC and was bred by Trey LaVoice. Wiring his field,  IL EST VITE was just that going 7 1/2 on a race which came off the grass. Scheduled on the turf, the race came off the grass so she sailed 5 furlongs on the dirt. She is owned by Love Partnership Interests LP and was bred by Chief One LLC & Clear Creek Stud LLC (LA).

      On the same day at Evangeline, 6 year old mare, and homebred for the Lee Young Farm Inc. LASSIE LYNN, won going a mile on a race which also came off the turf. It was her 5th win and she scored by almost 4 lengths. She upped her bankroll over $127,000.

      Three year old filly CHINAWOOD broke her maiden earlier this year. Today she overcame traffic problems and steered clear for a win in her first allowance condition at Evangeline Downs. She has earned better than $50,000 for her owner John Duvieilh and Keith & Earl Hernandez. She is trained by Frank Leggio and was bred by Alston Thoroughbreds LLC. 


      Three year old gelding CUSTOMIZER shook clear and won his second race for owner Set-Hut LLC. He was sprinting 5 furlongs on the turf at Evangeline. CUSTOMIZER was bred by Perry Segura.

      Also at Evangine, first time starter three year old gelding, CALEB HAWK, had an exciting trip. He was off slow but figured it out FAST and won by over 8 lengths. He is a homebred for John Duvieilh (who had a lot of excitment today) & Bill Langford. Keep and eye on this one.

      The Equine Sales Company will host its annual open yearling and mixed sale Oct. 16 at its Opelousas, Louisiana complex. Yearling and weanling graduates of the auction will be eligible for the $75,000 Equine Sales Derby and $75,000 Equine Sales Oaks to be run at Evangeline Downs. The two-turn races were run for the first time this May. The sales company will also be holding its consignor select yearling sale Sept. 7.

      Consigned by Pike Racing, agent, hip #28 is from the second crop of Custom for Carlos out of the winning Pollard’s Vision mare Stellar Vision, who is a half sister to Grade 3-placed runner Scarlet Starlet. Stellar Vision has one foal of racing age who has yet to race. WATCH VIDEO
